My name is Cary Gentry and I live in Summerfield, NC, which is just NW of Greensboro,
in the Triad region of NC. I graduated from NC State in 1991 with a BS in Meteorology. I
currently work for a local air quality agency in Winston-Salem, NC, as an air quality
forecaster, among numerous other things.  

My family consists of a lovely wife and 3 young (8, 5, and <1) children. Needless to
say,  my life is busy. To constrain my time even more, I am an avid triathlete and
compete in numerous races every summer. I love the outdoors and of course, the
weather.

I started this web site due to several reasons. Number one, is my love of weather. I
have been fascinated by the weather since I was a little boy. I followed this
fascination to college and became a degreed Meteorologist. Next, I'm always asked
by friends, relatives, co-workers, triathletes, etc. "what's the weather going to be like
for (you can fill in the blanks)?"  All outdoor activities are affected by the weather in
one way or another. I've always enjoyed trying to provide the best forecast. Of course,
weather forecasting is challenging, but that's half the fun! I've also been called on to
find out the climatology for a certain time of year for numerous locations around the
country.
